Transamerica Adds 50 Investment Options

October 23, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Transamerica Retirement Services announced the addition of 50 new investment options to its retirement plan investment platform.

According to the announcement, the addition brings the total investment choices for small to mid-sized employers to 144.   The offerings include target maturity, strategic allocation, hybrid and other specialty funds.

The 144 investments include choices from 30 investment companies, including:

  • Capital Research and Management Company
  • BlackRock, Inc.
  • The Vanguard Group
  • Goldman Sachs Asset Management
  • Oppenheimer Funds
  • Franklin Templeton Investments
  • First American Funds.

Transamerica said in the announcement that, on a quarterly basis, it examines six criteria, including performance measurement, style consistency, fees and expenses, investment process and portfolio composition, management tenure and organization using tools from Morningstar when evaluating and selecting investment options. In addition, Standard & Poor’s Investment Advisory Services LLC also reviews the investment option lineup annually to determine whether it meets S&P’s standards of appropriateness for defined contribution plans.
