Transamerica Retirement Services Hires Sales Leader for Upstate NY

In this role, Hammerschmidt will be responsible for all sales activities in central and western New York, from Syracuse to Buffalo. He will be based in Marcellus, New York, and report to Christopher Barrett, Transamerica’s Northeast Region Division Vice President, according to the firm’s announcement.   

Hammerschmidt joins Transamerica from ING Financial Advisors, where he served nearly 12 years in multiple retirement-related roles. Most recently, he served as a defined contribution regional sales director in Upstate New York and Vermont, where he was responsible for growing business through third party administrator and adviser channels. Prior to that, he served as a client relations manager.   

Hammerschmidt received his Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York, Empire State College.
