TUESDAY TRIVIA: Which Backyard Weeds Are Good for You?

As you sniffle through this allergy season, you might not realize some weeds are actually healthy.

Backyard weeds can bring on the sniffles, sneezes and a general bad feeling. Some of those same weeds can be good for you.

Which weeds are healthy?

According to Live Science, the five healthiest weeds are dandelions, purslane, Lamb’s quarters, plantains and stinging nettles. Its website says dandelion leaves contain far more amounts of vitamins A, C and K than garden tomatoes. And they are good sources of calcium, iron, manganese and potassium.

There are recipes online for dandelion salad. The entire weed is edible; however, you want to make sure they’re clean.
