U.S. Preventive Medicine Launches Health Management Program

According to the announcement, The Prevention Plan is now available to both large and small employers directly as well as to employee benefit consultants and brokers to offer to their employer clients. The firm says the program is a first-of-its kind benefit concept solely focused on preventive care.  

Under the program, individuals prioritize their health risks through a health evaluation that includes a health risk questionnaire, comprehensive blood tests, biometrics, and physician review and recommendations. The program utilizes an RN Advocate, who works closely with each member by telephone and online to boost effectiveness of the program’s action plans, as well as educate and motivate members.

Other tools in the program include alerts for preventive screenings (including those paid for by the employer), reward programs, and discounts with national partners.

As part of the program, employers are provided with detailed management reports with aggregate data so they are fully informed about their employees’ overall risks and can more effectively target actions to mitigate them. Once specific areas of concerns are revealed, U.S. Preventive Medicine delivers custom programs to manage the health of those individuals with costly chronic care needs or high-risk issues such as diabetes and pregnancy.

The company said it designed the program to become a private, secure, online medical home for individuals to store medical information and track their progress over time.  Since the plan is
independent of insurance, all information is completely confidential and portable even if the employer changes insurance carriers or the employee changes jobs.
