UK Sponsors and Trustees Get Free Education

January 16, 2009 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The UK's Pensions Regulator has reminded pension scheme sponsors and trustees of two free education programs.

Pensionwise is a free program for employers who offer occupational trust-based pension schemes with defined contribution arrangements that provides a step-by-step guide to what employers need to know and do in relation to their scheme. According to an announcement, it is broken down into six online topics; administration: member communications, retirement choices, charges, investment choices, and Exchange (levy and scheme return).

The Trustee toolkit is a flexible, online tool which aims to provide pension scheme trustees with the knowledge needed to meet the Trustee Knowledge and Understanding requirements under the Pensions Act 2004.

The toolkit features a series of interactive modules containing real life case studies and scenarios trustees can work through at their convenience. At the end of the program trustees are awarded with a certificate to prove completion.
