UNIFI Acquires Assurity Advisors

Retirement Plans announced it will enter the registered
investment adviser (RIA) and fee-based marketplace with the
acquisition of the Lincoln, Nebraska-based Assurity Advisors,
Inc.

The acquisition is expecte d to be completed August 1, 2009 .
“This acquisition offers UNIFI Companies Retirement Plans an opportunity for asset growth and distribution expansion with a mutual fund-based product offering,” commented Andrew Powers, vice president – UNIFI Companies Retirement Plans , in the announcement .
UNIFI Companies Retirement Plans is an affiliate of Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. and The Union Central Life Insurance Company’s retirement plans divisions.
