Vanguard Enters Pension Pooling Marketplace

March 10, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Vanguard Investments has launched an Ireland-based pension pooling fund with more than $10 billion in assets.

According to the announcement, the Vanguard Common Contractual Fund is an open-ended fund umbrella structure domiciled in Ireland and established under UCITS III guidelines. The guidelines cited tax transparency and economies of scale as key advantages of the fund.

The fund is comprised of multi-currency share classes of index and enhanced equity portfolios, the announcement said.

A recent survey from Deloitte revealed that 80% of multinational companies are considering pension pooling solutions (See Multinationals Increasingly Turn to Pension Pooling ).
