Verizon Connects With Mellon

November 27, 2000 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Verizon has picked Mellon as Master Trustee for the $17 billion former GTE defined benefit plan, expanding the current $60 billion Mellon currently administers for the Bell Atlantic programs.

Bell Atlantic changed its name to Verizon after its merger with GTE.

Verizon also named Mellon Institutional Asset Management as the newest member of its Strategic Partner Network to manage a portion of its pension plan assets.

As master trustee, Mellon will provide Verizon with custody, accounting, and securities lending services for their defined benefit plan.
