Web Program on Fiduciary Responsibility Unveiled

May 22, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Plan sponsors can earn a professional designation upon completing courses and passing a competency exam on investment fiduciary responsibility.

In association with the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business, The Center for Fiduciary Studies has released its first Web-based course, “Introduction to Investment Management” for its fiduciary responsibility certification program.

The two-hour introductory course is the first of a series of eight Web-based courses, which are offered as an alternative to its classroom-based programs at the University of Pittsburgh and Stetson University’s Celebration Campus in Orlando, Florida.
 
The center’s courses provide instruction on:

  • fiduciary standards of care
  • asset allocation
  • preparation of investment policy statements
  • manager search and due diligence
  • performance measurement
  • controlling fees and expenses.

The course qualifies for continuing education credits. The series is being developed in partnership with Acadient, Inc.
