October 24, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Nearly half of workers rank weight management as their greatest health concern, followed by fears about general health, according to a poll conducted by LifeCare, Inc.

According to a press release about the poll, 49% of employees said they were most concerned about managing their weight.

Behind that issue, employees also mentioned being concerned about:

  • General health, 18%
  • Heart health, 11%
  • Diabetes, 4%
  • Blood pressure, 3% and
  • Smoking cessation, 1%

Another 15% of respondents checked “other,” citing a variety of concerns (each representing less than 1%) including “healthy aging,” “cancer” and “mental health,” among others.

The poll was posted on LifeCare’s private web site during September and open to employees of its 1,500 client organizations.
