Zurich Scudder CIO joins American Express

September 5, 2000 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - American Express Financial Advisors has hired William F. Truscott as its chief investment officer, effective Sept. 6.

Truscott joins the firm from Zurich Scudder Investments in New York where he most recently served as managing director and chief investment officer-Americas. He replaces Peter Anderson, who retired earlier this year. Truscott had been with Zurich Scudder for nine years.

In his new position, Truscott will oversee AEFA’s 350-member investment department, which manages over $261 billion in assets.

In the wake of Truscott’s departure, Zurich Scudder has annnounced that Farhan Sharaff, currently global CIO, will take on the additional post of regional CIO for the Americas.

Sharaff joined Zurich two years ago from Citigroup.
