FTSE Branches Out into Bond Indices
October 17, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Global index
company FTSE Group is branching out from its existing equity
indices.
Reported by Fred Schneyer
According to a FTSE announcement, FTSE has acquired the Reuters BONDTOP index family and will be using it as the basis of the new FTSE Global Bond Index Series, effective October 21.
FTSE said newly created tradable indices would be added soon, allowing the series to support exchange-traded funds (ETFs), index-linked funds and derivative products.
Over the coming months, FTSE said it would create new fixed-income indices. The new indices will include country and regional government bond indices, as well as corporate bond indices.
