Pension Reform Vote Postponed – Again

November 1, 2000 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Senate has once again put off a floor vote on HR 2614, the tax bill that contains pension reform legislation and several health care provisions.

It may be considered today or tomorrow.

The American Benefits Council notes that Republicans are committed to the bill in its current form, and intend to urge President Clinton to sign it despite his veto threat.

If vetoed, Congressional leaders say they will not prepare a second bill more accommodating to the President’s perspective.
