Portfolio Manager Charged with Stealing from CO PERA
June 25, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has charged a woman accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA).

According to a news release from Morrissey, Beth Ann Roybal is charged with nineteen counts of theft and one count of forgery.
Roybal was a senior portfolio manager at PERA, working as a property manager for PERA-owned property until she retired in February. The charges allege that between 1993 and 2009 she stole more than $500,000 by skimming rent checks and submitting phony invoices for the property she managed.
Roybal was arrested on June 14, 2010 and her bond is set at $100,000, the announcement said.
