Mercer Names Midwest Retirement Head

January 15, 2013 (PLANSPONSOR.com ) – David Weissner was named Midwest market business leader for Mercer’s retirement business.

Based in Chicago, Weissner will be responsible for overall business performance, client satisfaction and continued growth. He takes over from Louis Gagnon, who had been serving in an interim leadership capacity and who will now return full-time to his position as global and U.S. head of retirement sales. Weissner will report to Jacques Goulet, North American leader of Mercer’s retirement business.

Weissner has established strong leadership and consulting abilities during his 20 years of experience. He most recently served as retirement office business leader for Mercer’s Minneapolis location. Before joining Mercer in 2001, he was a senior consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He began his career as an actuarial analyst with The Segal Company.

Weissner holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
