Aetna Introduces New PPO Plan
December 12, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Aetna is
offering a new portfolio of preferred provider organization
(PPO) health plans for small businesses in Maryland,
Virginia, and Washington, DC, to be sold through brokers and
independent insurance agents.
Reported by Alison Cooke
In addition to the existing health maintenance organization (HMO) and point-of-service (POS) plans offered by Aetna, the new PPO plan is designed for those businesses employing between two and 50 workers, offering the businesses flexibility in copays, deductibles, and benefits.
Also being introduced by Aetna is an online rating tool that will allow brokers to generate quotes for Aetna small-group products for a group based on the location of the company’s headquarters.
