Aon Consulting Names New CEO

July 19, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Andrew Appel has been tapped as new chief executive officer of Aon Consulting Worldwide, Aon's human capital and management consulting division, the company announced Tuesday.

The appointment of Appel, 40, is effective immediately, according to a company news release. Appel will report to Greg Case, Aon’s president and CEO. Appel succeeds Donald Ingram, who has had longstanding plans to retire as Aon Consulting’s chief executive officer, but will remain as Aon Consulting’s chairman, according to the news release.

Appel joins Aon from McKinsey & Company, where he was a senior partner in the firm’s Financial Services and Technology practices.

A Los Angeles native, Appel holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. He earned his MBA from the University of Chicago.
