Arkansas Firm Puts Out FSA Debit Card

July 26, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A Little Rock, Arkansas employee benefit firm has released a new debit card for those participating in workplace Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and other similar programs.

An announcement from DataPath said its mySourceCard product comes out of its partnership with Benefit Bank and will allow employees and their family members to access funds to pay for allowable expenses.

mySourceCard is a special-purpose MasterCard debit card that interfaces with FSAs, Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA), Dependent Care Assistant Programs (DCAP), and Transportation Management Accounts. For the most part, mySourceCard works just like a debit card, except that it is limited to specific merchants and eligible expenses, which are determined by the benefit account selected.

mySourceCard users present the card at specified categories of providers, such as health care providers, pharmacies, dependent care, and mass transit and parking providers for payment of out-of-pocket balances such as co-payments, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts.
