Barclays Launches EAFE ETF

August 16, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The iShares MSCI EAFE exchange traded fund (ETF) from Barclays Global Investors will begin trading on the American Stock Exchange tomorrow, offering ETF investors access to a broad, international index.

Exchange-traded funds are similar to index funds, but they trade throughout the day, and can be traded like individual stocks, offering additional flexibility and liquidity for plan sponsors.

The MSCI EAFE Index is recognized as a major benchmark in the US for international equity performance and features MSCI’s enhanced methodology. The new iShares MSCI EAFE fund is the only ETF tracking MSCI’s new Provisional EAFE Index.
