Barron Returns to CRA RogersCasey

May 13, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - CRA RogersCasey has tapped Tim Barron, a former RogersCasey consultant and plan sponsor, as its new director of research.

Barron is the second senior BARRA RogersCasey executive to rejoin the firm in recent days. Steve Case, another former managing director, was hired in April.

Capital Resource Holdings bought RogersCasey from BARRA at the end of March, prompting 16 RogersCasey staffers, led by former CEO Robin Pellish, to quit and start their own firm, Rocaton Investment Advisers (see Former BRC Staffers Form New Firm ).

Barron, who spent four years with RogersCasey in the 1990s as a managing director has also served as chief investment officer for the Virginia Retirement System and prior to that was executive director for the City of Richmond Retirement System.

Most recently Barron was director of US institutional client development at Muzinich & Co, a high yield bond firm, and prior to that he was a principal at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Investment Management.

CRA RogersCasey also announced the promotions of Edward Asam as director of capital markets research and Sanjoy Chatterjee as chief technology officer.

Asam has been with Capital Resource Advisors since 1987 – at CRA RogersCasey, he will be responsible for overseeing initiatives in asset/liability modeling and developing client-specific asset allocation and spending policies for pension plans, foundations, endowments, and healthcare clients.

Chatterjee joined BARRA RogersCasey in 1997 and since that time he has been responsible for building and enhancing most of the firm’s current technology infrastructure, including applications for portfolio performance measurement, manager selection, data collection, and network communications, according to a firm official.
