Benefit Discount Program Unveiled

According to a news release, the new program from Fortis Benefits Insurance Company is designed to address the high cost of health care. It offers an array of discounts on services, including vision, a nursing hotline, counseling, pharmacy, chiropractic, travel assistance and legal advice.

Employees who purchase voluntary life or disability insurance from Fortis Benefits get one of the specific discount programs or services at no additional cost. They can also purchase as few or as many of the other discounts or services as they wish. Employees who do not purchase insurance also have the opportunity to purchase discounts or services from the HealthySolutions “a la carte menu.”

One card covers an employee and the employee’s family. And because these are not insurance benefits, there are no:

claim forms
pre-existing conditions or exclusions
maximums
deductibles
waiting periods for coverage.
