May 9, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Thanks to the
Internet, small public sector employer will now be able to
take part in 457 affordable deferred compensation
plans.
Reported by Camilla Klein
The ICMA Retirement Corporation’s (ICMA-RC) i457 plan enables smaller public sector employers to benefit from the features of deferred compensation plans formerly available only to large plans.
The plan offers a range of mutual funds and services for 457 supplemental retirement plans and provide employees with online enrollment and account management and education.
The program allows plan sponsors to:
- evaluate, design and manage a 457 deferred compensation plan via the Internet;
- access comprehensive on-line reports, analyzing employee behavior and demographics and historical investment option performance;
- view the manner in which participants use the investment options, information which allows plan sponsors to continuously improve their plan.
In addition, ICMA-RC will assist with maintaining the compliance of the plan by monitoring legislative changes, implementing these and keeping plan sponsors abreast of such changes.
