BlackRock Rolls Out Online Retirement Center

October 22, 2012 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - BlackRock launched a digital retirement center to coincide with National Save for Retirement Week, which is October 21 to October 27.

The Retirement Center offers content for different age groups: Just Starting Out (20s and 30s); On Your Way (40s and 50s); Nearing/At Retirement (60s and 70s); and Enjoying Retirement (70s+).

Each age tab gives users relevant content and statistics, interactive tools and charts, and infographics. Insight surrounding age-appropriate investing is also found in each tab. For example, the topic of longevity for a 22-year-old includes insights about turning decades of future earnings into retirement security, while the same topic for a 62-year-old emphasizes that a retirement of two to three decades may still await an individual.

The website also features:

Define Your Retirement: Provides an interactive way for all investors to visualize their retirement goals with a personal profile designed to launch a conversation and, ultimately, a plan that can be implemented with the assistance of an adviser.

Just One Thing: Users can subscribe to weekly tips to improve the way they think about saving and spending in retirement.

The site also provides updated educational videos, infographics and interactive polls to educate investors and advisers about retirement.

BlackRock Investor Watch, a nationwide survey fielded in September, found many respondents are more concerned than ever about retirement planning, and they are taking action. The survey found 70% of investors are initiating conversations with their financial advisers about retirement.
