Blackstone Private Wealth Appoints New Head of Retirement Solutions Sales
Michael Miller will lead the company’s efforts to encourage defined contribution plans to consider adding private-market investments.
Blackstone Private Wealth Solutions, the wealth management division of Blackstone Inc., hired Michael Miller as a senior managing director and head of retirement solutions sales, effective June 15.
As part of Blackstone’s defined contribution business unit, Miller, based in New York, reports to Heather von Zuben, its global head of retirement solutions. Blackstone’s DC unit launched last October and has created partnerships with Empower and OneDigital to include private-market investments in retirement plan portfolios.
“Blackstone is the undisputed leader in private markets, and I’m thrilled to join a firm with more than two decades of experience serving individual investors,” Miller said in a statement. “I look forward to working with Heather and the broader team to expand access to these opportunities for retirement savers.”
Blackstone launched its defined contribution business unit in October 2025 to focus on “broadening access to private markets for retirement savers via defined contribution plans.”
The company’s announcement about Miller quoted von Zuben, who praised his “outstanding track record of building defined contribution businesses.”
Miller was previously head of DC solutions at PGIM. Prior to that, he was head of retirement for the Americas at JPMorganChase & Co. He earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from Florida State University.
Recently, Miller stepped down as chair of the governing board of the SPARK [Society of Professional Asset Managers and Recordkeepers] Institute and was succeeded by Will Hicks of FIS Global.
Blackstone Private Wealth has more than $300 billion in assets under management.
