BMO InvestorLine Launches Online Retirement Tool

August 9, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - BMO InvestorLine, Bank of Montreal's direct investing firm, has launched an online retirement planning tool for self-directed investors.

The Retirement Planner provides a detailed assessment of a client’s retirement assets and generates a report on the client’s current position and goals.

Clients first complete a questionnaire, which gauges risk tolerance, level of investment knowledge and the timing of retirement and then creates an asset allocation based on the profile.

The investor has the option of choosing to use this allocation, or creating an entirely new one. The tool then calculates the savings necessary to meet projected retirement goals.

Users can revise their plan to see the results under different scenarios, then save the plan for regular updates and monitoring. From here they can link to mutual fund, fixed income and equity selectors to implement their portfolio strategy.

BMO InvestorLine has also expanded its research offering with the addition of Zacks Investment Research, allowing clients access to analysis of over 10,000 Canadian and US companies.

The group’s stock selector Stock Selector enables users to screen and rank North American stocks according to defined financial criteria.
