BNP Plans Derivatives Based on S&P Hedge Fund Index

December 16, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - BNP Paribas has been granted a license by Standard & Poor's (S&P) to provide global derivative products based on the S&P Hedge Fund Index, according to a BNP Press release.

Available by early 2003, BNP plans on providing derivative products, linked to the  S&P Hedge Fund Index , to global investors, including:

  • Principal protected notes
  • Swaps
  • Options

Additionally, BNP said it should be able to provide daily liquidity due to the pricing characteristics of the Index.
