BNY Asset Management Announces New Consultant Relations Team

September 20, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The investment arm of the Bank of New York, BNY Asset Management, has announced the creation of a new consultant relations team to enhance its focus on the consulting community.

James Barrett, who has been appointed managing director of Institutional Sales and Marketing, will lead the new team. Reporting to Barrett will be James Woods Jr., formerly of Pilgrim Baxter & Associates; M. Randall Strickland, previously of American Century Investments; Jason Soto, formerly of JP Morgan Investment Management; and Michael Russo, who joins BNY from John A. Levin & Co. Woods and Strickland will be managing directors.

Soto will join the team as vice president responsible for consultant outreach, while Russo will be a manager of investment analytics. Barrett joins the Bank of New York from Northern Trust Global Investments, where he was responsible for business development, consultant relations, and client service.
