Brentwood Adds Annuity Portfolio Manager

 August 3, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – Brentwood Asset Advisors has hired a new Annuity Portfolio Manager.    

 

According to an announcement, Bernie Hughes CFA, has recently joined the Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida-based firm. 

Prior to joining Brentwood, Bernie had worked for 17 years in various capacities within the retirement business at Travelers Insurance Company, and during the most recent 20 years as a Senior Investment Consultant with the firm of Towers Watson.   

His role at Brentwood will be to assist retirement plan fiduciaries with an array of risk mitigation strategies, including the transfer of pension and profit sharing retirement plan liabilities to the insurance industry.   As an Annuity Portfolio Manager, Bernie will benchmark and monitor each client’s custom plan specific liabilities using Brentwood’s recently launched Annuity Tracking Program, and assist plan sponsors with the transfer of pension and profit sharing liabilities to the insurance industry on what was described as “an opportunistic basis”. 

Brentwood Asset Advisors was founded in 1988, and has placed over $8 billion in annuity contracts, according to the firm.
