BT and Accenture Sign 10-Year BPO Deal

February 2, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - British communications firm BT and global outsourcing company Accenture have signed a 10-year contract for business process outsourcing.

The contract extends the relationship of the two companies, according to a BT press release. Currently, Accenture provides customer contact, recruitment, pension administration, payroll and benefits administration, health and safety, and HR advisory and information services to 87,000 employees and 180,000 pensioners in Britain. The contract, which takes effect August 1, will extend these services, delivered by Accenture HR Services, to 10,000 more employees in 37 countries not covered by the previous contract.

The deal is worth $575 million, according to the release.

BT ( www.bt.com ), which is comprised mainly of BT Retail, BT wholesale, and BT Global Services, saw profits of over 2 million British pounds in fiscal 2004. Accenture ( www.accenture.com ), a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, had net revenues of over $13 billion in fiscal 2004.
