Callan Names New President

January 3, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Callan Associates has announced that, effective immediately, Gregory Allen will assume the title of president and will have oversight of Fund Sponsor Consulting, Research and the Trust Advisory Group.

According to the announcement, Allen will continue to serve as director of research. Allen is replacing Ronald Peyton, who has been appointed chairman of the board and will remain chief executive officer and chief operating officer.

The firm’s Institutional Consulting Group, Independent Adviser Group, Callan Investments Institute and Administration will report to Peyton. Edwin Callan, founder and former chairman of the board, will assume the title of chairman emeritus, the announcement said.

Allen joined Callan Associates in 1988 as an analyst in the capital markets research group where he focused on quantitative analysis, product development and asset allocation and quantitative research projects for clients. Since 1993, Allen has managed the capital markets research, operations and specialty consulting groups that include global manager research, international consulting and private markets.

In addition, the firm announced James Callahan was named executive vice president and manager of the Fund Sponsor Consulting group, reporting to Allen. Callahan joined Callan Associates in 1993 and has co-managed the San Francisco and Chicago consulting offices since 2001 and 2005, respectively.
