Charles Schwab Launches Improved Equity Award Center

August 31, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Charles Schwab Corporate Services announced that it is introducing an updated and improved version of its Schwab OptionCenter, now dubbed the Schwab Equity Award Center.

The Award Center has been designed to allow plan sponsors and participants learn about, model and conduct transactions related to employee equity compensation benefits. In a news release, Schwab stated that “the new site mirrors the industrywide shift to a broader array of equity awards, including restricted stock units.”

“Stock options are just one form of equity compensation and we wanted Schwab Equity Award Center to reflect that diversity and offer appropriate functionality,” said Dale Kalman, director of Schwab Stock Plan Services, in the news release. “As equity compensation benefits become increasingly complex, Schwab Equity Award Center offers plan sponsors and participants more advanced tools to better manage and model stock plan awards.”

Besides allowing plan sponsors and participants to view equity awards and online grant acceptance, the new tool offers expanded viewing and transaction capabilities for restricted stock use and allows both Schwab and a participating company to send companywide or personalized messages.
