CIGNA CEO Announces Executive Leadership Team

According to the announcement, a search is under way for someone who will be president of a new position over U.S. Commercial for CIGNA, including U.S. products, marketing, national accounts, middle-market, individual segment, select segment, seniors, CIGNA medical group, third-party arrangements, emerging markets, COLI and strategic alliances.

Meanwhile, Matthew Manders has been named to the newly created position of president of CIGNA U.S. Service, Clinical and Specialty. He will oversee all service, network and clinical program delivery, as well as CIGNA’s portfolio of specialty businesses, the announcement said. Manders has served in a number of executive leadership positions in HealthCare at CIGNA and has more than 22 years of operational and financial experience at the company.

William Atwell will continue as president of CIGNA International and leads company operations in Asia and Europe. Annmarie Hagan will continue as executive vice president and chief financial officer, and Jeffrey L. Kang, MD, will continue as chief medical officer.

John M. Murabito continues as executive vice president of human resources and services and chief human resources officer, and Carol Ann Petren, continues as executive vice present of legal and public affairs and general counsel of CIGNA. Michael Woeller will continue as executive vice president and chief information officer.
