Citi Names New Head of Retirement Benefits Advisory Group

June 19, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Citi Markets & Banking has announced it has hired Ari Jacobs as a Managing Director and Head of the Retirement Benefits Advisory Group for corporate, public sector and financial institution clients.

In his new role, Jacobs will work with coverage bankers and the structured solutions group to provide clients with strategic advice on a wide range of issues surrounding their retirement benefit programs, the announcement said. Jacobs previously worked at Hewitt Associates where he was Global Head of Retirement and Benefits Consulting.

Carsten Stendevad, Head of the Financial Strategy Group, said in the announcement, “Retirement programs are no longer just a footnote in our client’s financial statements — they are a crucial component of their capital and cost structures. Funding these programs and proactively managing the risks are ‘short-list’ priorities for many of our most important clients. Citi is working to provide innovative solutions to these clients through a coordinated effort of our capital markets and investment banking teams, and Ari is a key driver of that effort.”
