CT Firm Unveils Workers' Comp Analytic Program

April 20, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Farmington, Connecticut-based Interplan Health Group (IHG) has released a new analytic product to help employers better keep track of workers' compensation cases.

An IHG news release said that its eDataWorks product helps reduce the cost of workers’ compensation, by integrating claims and medical information and applying interactive analytic tools, which facilitate earlier return to work, design of outcome oriented PPO’s, and evaluation of cost containment programs.

The announcement said the new offering:

  • monitors network performance based upon proprietary outcome measures,
  • offers a new data warehouse containing integrated medical bill, claims, provider and other data,
  • presents Web-enabled analytical tools and reporting to assess and measure cost, utilization and outcomes, and
  • is based on customized network configurations to optimize network performance at the employer level.

“Our customers’ value access to their integrated information via a web based reporting front end, which enables them to perform scores of their own analyses such as performance, forecasting and trending. Frequently, even large claims payers don’t have this flexible reporting and analytic capability within their own systems environment,” said Maureen Starr, SVP, Interplan Health Group, in the news release.
