DC Training Offers Classroom, Online Components

May 12, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Two financial industry training groups have teamed up to provide defined contribution instruction that mixes both online and classroom work.

According to a news release, RG Wuelfing & Associates, Inc. has joined with Acadient, Inc. to offer new versions of Wuelfing’s US Defined Contribution Plans Overview Course and Certification Program for Marketing Professionals. The Boston, Massachusetts-based Acadient develops multimedia, interactive financial-services training.

The new online/classroom combination allows participants to study program fundamentals in an online session and then go to an interactive classroom session. This blended method allows employees to study content at their convenience and then practice applying concepts in a more traditional learning environment, according to the announcement.

The US Defined Contribution Plans Overview Program is designed to help individuals understand defined contribution retirement plans and the issues facing the industry.   The course has both an administrative track and a sales and marketing track to address the career goals of different employees.

The US Defined Contribution Plans Overview Program was developed in conjunction with the Society of Professional Administrators and Recordkeepers (SPARK), a defined contribution industry trade association.   Upon successful completion of the programs, participants earn SPARK accreditation. RG Wuelfing & Associates founded and manages SPARK.
