Digital Platform Her Agenda Teams With Ad Council, AARP to Spotlight ‘Pretirement’ for Women
A livestreamed flagship conversation is scheduled for October 23.
Her Agenda, a digital media platform focused on closing the achievement gap for women, announced a partnership with the Ad Council and the American Association of Retired Persons to elevate the concept of “pretirement” as a proactive, empowering approach to the years leading up to retirement.
The initiative will run across Her Agenda’s editorial, digital and live event channels. As part of the initiative, “Stacked: Saving, Planning, & Playing With Intention,” a flagship conversation, will be simulcast on October 23 from New York City.
The event will be hosted by Her Agenda’s founder, Rhonesha Byng, and will feature speakers such as financial activist and author Dasha Kennedy, AARP Public Policy Institute’s Lori Trawinski, and personal finance thought leader and author Jamila Souffrant. The discussion will explore balancing ambition, security and joy while building long-term financial well-being.
“Pretirement is about reframing the way women think about what comes next,” Byng said in a statement. “Women need to be equipped to support ourselves, and that means having the strategy and resources in place to navigate whatever comes next with confidence. Collaborating with the Ad Council and AARP ensures that this message not only reaches our community but also influences the broader cultural conversation.”
Programming for the event will include explanatory reporting and newsletters focused on the realities of financial planning for women; online and in-person community dialogues to spur early action; and accessible educational content that translates complex concepts into practical steps.
“Our collaboration with Her Agenda and AARP empowers women, delivering a message that’s both timely and transformative: pretirement isn’t just a phase, it’s a mindset,” said Tracy Danicich, vice president and group campaign director at the Ad Council, in a statement. “By equipping women with the tools to plan intentionally, we’re helping to build a future where financial confidence and freedom are within reach for everyone.”
