December 12, 2001 - The US Department of Labor (DoL)'s Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration extended the comments period for a number of class and individual exemptions currently under consideration.

The Department’s has given a two-week extention (until December 26) to make up for the period between October and November when the DoL’s mailroom was closed as a precautionary measure during the recent anthrax scare.

The affected exemptions are listed in the Department’s Federal Register notice on December 12, including a proposed amendment to an existing class exemption allowing plans to receive interest free loans and extensions of credit from related parties.
