EEOC Launches Spanish Language Site

January 11, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has unveiled a Spanish language version of its public Web site.

The order – entitled “Improving Access to Services for Persons with limited English Proficiency” – requires all federal departments and agencies to examine its delivery of services to people lacking proficiency in English. The EEOC, responding to the order, has produced the Spanish Web site, www.eeoc.gov/es/ .

“This new web site will make key information about employment rights and responsibilities more easily accessible to Spanish speakers and people with limited English proficiency,” said Commission Chair Cari Dominguez, in a statement. “Having quick and easy online access to EEOC resources in Spanish will better serve the public as our nation’s workplaces become increasingly more diverse.”

The content on the site mirrors that on the English site ( www.eeoc.gov ), and includes new information, as well as updates and changes to training and seminar schedules, among other things. The EEOC enforces federal workplace discrimination laws.
