EquaTerra Creates Public Sector Sourcing Advisory Unit

May 2, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) — EquaTerra, a outsourcing and insourcing advisory firm, has launched EquaTerra Public Sector LLC (EQPS), a subsidiary to help public sector organizations evaluate outsourcing, shared services or a blended sourcing model for HR, Finance & Accounting, IT, CRM and Procurement.

A company news release said that the new unit will focus on local, state or provincial, and federal governments; public utilities; educational institutions, including colleges and universities; public health care systems; and non-profit entities.   The company said it will also help streamline the delivery of non-core processes while reducing expenses and mitigating risk.

President of the new practice is Glenn Davidson, previously Chief of Market Strategy & Corporate Development for Accenture HR Services. Other members of EQPS’ leadership team include:

  • Jeff Shooter, Executive Vice President, Sales and Professional Services, formerly of Convergys Employee Care’s Federal practice.  
  • Mark Stelzner, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, who comes after leading global third-party relations for Convergys Employee Care.  
  • Glenn Giles, Vice President, Professional Services, previously COO of the District of Columbia, responsible for the organizational structure and operating systems of the Technology Office.

EquaTerra has prior experience in the public sector market, having previously advising groups such as the US Navy, US Army, California State University and the New York City Department of Education, on a range of sourcing matters.
