  • Anne Ackerley

    Head of US and Canada Defined Contribution, BlackRock, Inc.,

    Anne F. Ackerley is a senior executive in financial services. She is the head of BlackRock’s US & Canada Defined Contribution (USDC) Group and a member of BlackRock’s Global Operating Committee and the Human Capital Committee. She has been with BlackRock since 2000 and has held various leadership positions before assuming her current role in 2015. Prior to joining BlackRock, Anne spent 15 years at Merrill Lynch, including as the chief operating officer for the mergers and acquisitions department. Anne served on the board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute from 2002 to 2005, the board of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School from 2011 to 2013 and the Harvard-Radcliffe Alumni Schools Committee for over 25 years. For her work in advancing gender equity, Anne was honored by the YWCA Academy of Women Leaders in 2013 and was named a 2013 trailblazer by the National Council for Research on Women (NCRW). Anne earned a BA degree, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in economics from Harvard College in 1984, and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School in 1988.

  • Andy Apostol

    Head of Stable Value Client Service, Invesco,

    Andy Apostol rejoined the Invesco stable value team in August 2014 and assumed responsibilities for overseeing stable value client relationships. In addition, he uses his 23 years of stable value experience serving as a resource for the Invesco sales team with consultant meetings and business development opportunities. He is also responsible for the development of topical materials on current themes in the stable value market. Andy began his career with Towers Watson (formerly Wyatt Asset Services) in 1991 where he focused on consulting on stable value investments with large defined contribution plan sponsors. Following Invesco’s acquisition of the Towers stable value team, Andy spent 13 years with Invesco focusing on stable value portfolio management and client relationship management. He broadened his experience and industry knowledge spending eight years with two other stable value managers overseeing client portfolios, evaluating externally-managed fixed income strategies, negotiating benefit responsive wrap agreements, heading product development initiatives, authoring white-papers and presenting at industry conferences. Andy earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Oregon. He increased his knowledge of retirement and benefit plans by achieving the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation and he maintains membership in the International Foundation of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists. Andy is active in Toastmasters International and a member of the Phoenix Society of Financial Analysts.

    Alex is the Managing Principal and Lead Adviser for AFS 401(k) Retirement Services. Joining the firm in 2006, he specializes in the design, implementation, and management of retirement plans for mid-sized corporations, non-profit organizations, and trade associations.     Beryl has over 25 years of experience in the Retirement Services Industry and joined the Richmond District office, following an extensive management career focusing on Retirement Services and Institutional administration for SunTrust Bank-Mid-Atlantic, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. While at SunTrust, Beryl was responsible for the management of over 700 401(k) and pension plans with over $11 billion in assets. In this role he has responsibility for the sales, consultant relations, and business development teams.     Michael Cagnina serves as Vice President and Managing Director of SEI’s Institutional Group, where he oversees sales activities and business development within the North American institutional investments marketplace. Mike and his team are responsible for developing new client relationships by selling SEI’s integrated solutions across the defined contribution, defined benefit, government, healthcare, nonprofit, and Taft-Hartley markets in the United States and Canada. Additionally, Mike is the head of SEI’s Institutional office located in Chicago. Prior to his current role, Mike sold SEI’s solutions to corporations, healthcare systems, and nonprofit organizations across the United States. Before joining SEI in 1992, Mike worked for Capital Resources, where his primary responsibilities were portfolio analysis and client service. Additionally, he spent four years at the Chicago Board of Trade in the U.S. Treasury Bond Futures Pit, where he employed technical and fundamental analysis to strengthen trading strategies.   • Drew Carrington

    Drew Carrington is a Senior Vice President, and leads Franklin Templeton’s defined contribution business within the U.S. institutional large market segment. His responsibilities include presenting the firm’s capabilities to existing and prospective DC clients and their consultants, as well as understanding and communicating the complex, evolving regulatory landscape of DC plans. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2013, he served as head of the Defined Contribution and Retirement Solutions Group at UBS Global Asset Management, focused on developing investment solutions for large DC plans, particularly in the target date and retirement income categories. He joined UBS in 2005, as a senior fixed income client portfolio manager for UBS, where he worked closely with their Asset-Liability Investment Solutions team to design and implement the fixed income and duration overlay portions of asset-liability management strategies. Before joining UBS, he was a principal at Mercer Investment Consulting, where he worked with both public and private DB and DC clients. He began his career in the financial services industry in 1988. Mr. Carrington is former chair of the Retirement Income Committee and current member of the Retirement Research Board of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA), a nonprofit association dedicated to enhancing the retirement security of American workers. He is a frequent speaker at DC industry conferences on retirement income, diversification opportunities and risk mitigation. Mr. Carrington holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations, is Series 7 and 63 licensed and holds a bachelor of arts from Harvard University.

  • Jamie Fleckner

    Jamie Fleckner is a partner in Goodwin Procter’s Litigation Department and Chair of its ERISA Litigation Practice. Mr. Fleckner represents clients in a wide array of complex commercial litigation, with a focus on financial services and products, including investment management.     Laura Gaynor is Senior Vice President, Corporate Plans Practice Leader for Transamerica Retirement Solutions (Transamerica). Ms. Gaynor is responsible for working with plan sponsors, consultants, and financial advisors seeking to improve and streamline plan sponsors’ Defined Contribution retirement plans. Ms. Gaynor began her career in 1988 as an Assistant Actuary with Transamerica and soon after, transferred to the Compliance Department where she spent 22 years managing the consulting group and working with some of Transamerica’s largest clients on developing custom merger and acquisition strategies. She has over 28 years of pension experience, specifically in the areas of technical compliance, administration and new business development.   • Katherine Godersky

    Kati Godersky has spent the past 7 years with MillerCoors LLC working on both the investment management side of the company’s pension and 401(k) plans and more recently on plan design and administration. As Manager, Retirement Benefits, Kati is responsible for the implementation, administration and compliance related to all company retirement programs, ensuring all plans meet corporate retirement benefit plan design and cost objectives, are administered in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and are communicated effectively to employees. Kati is also responsible for evaluating the functional requirements and capabilities of both internal systems and those provided by outside vendors, managing all outside vendors used to administer the company’s retirement benefit programs, providing year-end accounting information for financial reporting and disclosure purposes, collecting and maintaining all employee data for actuarial valuations, defined contribution plan recordkeeping and discrimination testing analyses, and providing cost analyses and design recommendations for union negotiations. She works very closely with the MillerCoors LLC Benefit Plan Governance Committee as a member of the Investment Subcommittee. Prior to joining MillerCoors Kati was an account executive and lead analyst for a firm that designed non-qualified retirement plans for highly compensated executives. Kati received her undergraduate degree from Carroll University and her MBA from the University of Chicago.

  • David Godofsky

    David Godofsky is the leader of the firm’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Group, which was named “Law Firm of the Year” by U.S. News – Best Lawyers® for ERISA Litigation in 2016 and Employee Benefits (ERISA) in 2015. His team of litigators represents major employers in cutting-edge class action and other bet-the-company litigation matters nationwide, including the Supreme Courts of Florida and Illinois. David’s ability to integrate legal analysis with cost, funding, administration and benefit design considerations is informed by his years of experience as an actuary and consultant. David is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Enrolled Actuary, former director of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and former vice chairman of the Education & Examination Committee of the Society of Actuaries. He currently serves on the program committee of the Enrolled Actuaries Meeting. In response to his comment letters, the U.S. Department of the Treasury corrected an error in pension funding regulations and changed the rules for determining whether cash balance plans satisfy the backloading requirements. Before joining the firm, David spent 18 years designing, implementing and administering employee benefit plans, determining costs and helping employers control costs and get the most for their employee benefits budgets. Kara joined Milliman in 1994 and has more than 20 years of experience working in the retirement plan industry. Kara is a client relationship manager and consults with defined contribution clients on all areas of plan design and compliance with ERISA and related regulations. Kara’s areas of expertise include controlled groups, fiduciary oversight, and prevailing wage rate plans.
