Evergreen Investments Makes Leadership Appointments

September 7, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Within its institutional division, Evergreen Investments has appointed Lisa Wesolek as Managing Director, Asset Management Sales, and Joseph Karpinski as Managing Director of Consultant Relations.

According to the company’s press release, Wesolek will report to Patrick O’Brien, the president of Evergreen Institutional, and Karpinski will report to Wesolek.

Wesolek will have overall responsibility for managing Evergreen Institutional’s day-to-day sales operations, business strategy, and implementation. According to the release, Wesolek has more than 20 years experience in the investment management field, previously working for 10 years as Managing Director with JPMorgan Asset Management.

Karpinski will have oversight of the Consultant Relations function within Evergreen, the release said. He was hired by Evergreen in 2001, and has served as a Director and Senior Sales Representative, focusing on the Mid-Atlantic and Taft Hartley marketplaces, working closely with consultant relations.

Evergreen Institutional, a division of Evergreen Investments, provides institutional account management and services to pensions, foundations, endowments and other institutional clients. As of June 30, 2005, Evergreen Institutional had more than $144.3 billion in assets under management.
