Ex-Merrill Lynch Internet Head Now Heads Up Bullrun

August 27, 2001(PLANSPONSOR.com) ? Online Portfolio management advice firm Bullrun Inc has hired John Michel as chief executive.

Michel, a former 13-year employee and director of Merrill Lynch Direct, Merrill Lynch?s Internet brokerage succeeds Robert Kibble, Bullrun’s interim CEO and managing partner of Mission Ventures, Bullrun’s lead investor.

During his tenure at Merrill Lynch, Michel also built the firm’s direct advice and guidance telephone channel, Investor Services. After beginning his Merrill career in National Sales, he also led the Client Marketing and Segmentation Group, Next Generation Marketing, and Retirement Plans and Services.

Bullrun is set to launch its service to institutional investors in September, followed by sophisticated individual investors in the future.
