Fidelity Adds Benefit Planning Tools to Web Portal

August 19, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Fidelity Investments is beefing up its NetBenefits Web portal with planning tools to help participants better analyze their investments and to plan their health care costs.

According to a Fidelity news release, the new offerings should help participants conduct a portfolio analysis, evaluate and compare their workplace retirement plan’s investment options, and estimate out-of-pocket health care costs in retirement.  

Available in September, the tools enable participants to better manage their investments and make adjustments to their investing strategies during the annual enrollment season.

The new suite of tools includes:

  • Portfolio Analysis , which  lets participants measure their portfolio’s diversification by providing access to their total portfolio and the ability to compare their portfolio with a market benchmark
  • Investment Research , which  helps participants compare and evaluate investment options available through their plan by providing the ability to quickly sort and evaluate plan offerings based on performance, asset class and Morningstar ratings
  • Health Care Calculator , which  helps participants estimate their out-of-pocket health care costs in retirement by providing the identification of gaps where supplemental programs mighe be needed and an overview of estimated premiums and out-of-pocket costs that are not covered, such as co-payments and prescription drugs.

Through its Workplace Services offering, Fidelity Investments provides human resources administration and employee benefits solutions to more than 15 million participants in more than 11,500 retirement, pension, health and welfare, payroll and stock plans as of May 31, 2003.
