December 12, 2001(PLANSPONSOR.com) - Fidelity
Investment's Workplace 529 College Investing Program was
launched today allowing American workers to save for college
through their employers' direct deposit programs.
Reported by Camilla Klein
The Workplace 529 Program will be offered to Fidelity’s defined contribution plan clients at the start of the New Year.
The new stand-alone program builds on a 529 Plan offering Fidelity has made available to clients as part of a package of employee investment services, and includes communication and education in the workplace and online access via Fidelity’s NetBenefits Web site.
At the core of the Workplace 529 Program is the UNIQUE College Investing Plan, which offers high contribution limits and a choice of eight Age-Based Portfolios and two Static Portfolios, which are composed primarily of equity funds.
