Finance Pros Upbeat About Job Prospects

September 7, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Life is apparently a bit rosier in the accounting and finance space as workers feel confident that jobs will be available and that they stand a good chance of getting hired for them.

A  Spherion press release said the quarterly Spherion Accounting and Finance Employment Report found that almost a third (29%) of adult accounting and finance personnel believe that open positions are available – compared to 20% of adult US workers in general. Not only that but nearly seven in 10 (68%) of accounting and finance workers are confident in their ability to find a new job. That compares to 58% of all US workers.

“As companies continue to dedicate thousands of man hours and millions of dollars to meet compliance initiatives mandated by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, the result is an incremental need for accounting and finance positions,” said Eric Archer, president of Spherion Professional Services, in the news release.
