Firm Offers Worksite Health Clinics

April 17, 2009 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A Houston company is offering a new program to employers to provide medical services to employees at the workplace.

A news release from   NuPhysicia LLC said its Medicine At Work program involves sending paramedics to the workplace who then consult with doctors via video teleconferencing to provide examinations, diagnosis, medical care and wellness coaching.

“Employees visit Medicine At Work clinics at the worksite for doctor visits, prescriptions when needed, one-on-one wellness coaching, and other health care needs, without the time away from work and expense normally associated with seeing a doctor,” Melody Reid, NuPhysicia’s Executive Director for Employee Health Services, said in the news release.

According to the announcement, the program also offers employers a health risk assessment (HRA) program that gives employees interaction with two direct visits with a doctor and paramedic, biometric examinations, and wellness program development and training at the workplace.

The announcement said a clinic for the program needs a minimum of 12 X 12 feet of space, an electrical outlet, Internet connection and a door for privacy at the employer site. The company provides all furnishings, equipment, clinic staff and medical care services for a fixed monthly cost per employee.
