Foley Hoag Law Firm Adds Labor and Employment Attorney

February 16, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Foley Hoag has further strengthened its Labor and Employment Law practice with the hiring of attorney Terence McCourt, who joins the Boston office as partner.

According to a press release, McCourt has a broad labor and employment practice that includes counseling local and national employers in developing employee and labor-relations strategies, as well as representing management at the bargaining table and before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).  He also focuses on litigation such as employment discrimination, wage-hour matters, and the enforcement of non-compete agreements.   

McCourt joins the firm from Greenberg Traurig, where he was chairman of that firm’s Boston Office Labor and Employment Group. He was previously Deputy Chief Legal Counsel to former Governor William Weld of Massachusetts and General Counsel to the Massachusetts Secretary of Labor.    

McCourt is the Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section, and a Member of the WGBH Corporate Executive Council.  He is a graduate of The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and he received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.
