FRIDAY FUN – April 1, 2022

And now it's time for some FRIDAY FUN!

Animals cruising around the park, spelling bee humor, and more.

In Wallsend, England, a woman brought a new kitten home and said she was watching it sleep one minute and “the next moment he’d disappeared into thin air.” She said she searched the internet for mama cat purring noises and when she played them, the kitten responded. It was stuck within a bathroom wall, according to UPI. Firefighters were called and were able to rescue the kitten. The news report didn’t mention how the kitten got into the wall in the first place.

I’ve heard of “pet-friendly,” but a hotel in Lexington, Kentucky, is advertising as “plant-friendly.” It’s not an advertising of their climate policies; the Elwood Hotel & Suites has teamed up with the convention and visitors bureau of Lexington to offer special amenities to guests who want to bring their houseplants along. UPI reports that the “World’s First Plant-Friendly Hotel experience,” which kicks off April 8, will offer The Gardener’s Premier Corner Room Package for six king suites “specially chosen for their abundance of plant friendly natural light.” The package also includes greenery provided by Pemberton’s Greenhouses, a complimentary potted succulent, botanical toiletries from Kentucky Soaps & Such and a “tea” for plants served in a pink mug.

In Converse, Texas, police were called about the discovery of what was thought to be skeletal remains near a road. “Upon arrival, they discovered a plastic prop skeleton discarded in a field,” the police department said in a Facebook post, according to UPI. The post said the “remains” were “removed and given a proper burial.”
