FTSE Does UK Index Series Housecleaning

March 12, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - As part of its routine quarterly housekeeping chores on its FTSE UK Index Series, the FTSE Group is swapping four companies from its FTSE 100 Index.

The index company also announced that it was moving five firms from the mid-cap FTSE 250 to the FTSE SmallCap and replacing the FTSE 250 deletions with five other firms.

According to a FTSE news release, deletions from the large-cap, blue-chip FTSE 100 include:

  • Invensys
  • Royal & Sun Alliance
  • British Airways
  • Rolls-Royce

They will be replaced by:

  • Kelda Group
  • Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust
  • Provident Financial
  • Cable & Wireless.

FTSE also announced that it was dropping from the mid-cap FTSE 250 and adding to FTSE SmallCap

:

  • Kingston Communications
  • Corus Group
  • Enodis
  • Expro International Group
  • Game Group.

The new additions to the FTSE 250 are:

  •   Paladin Resources
  •   Crest Nicholson
  •   NHP
  •   Headlam Group
  •   Perpetual Income & Growth Investment Company.  

Changes to the FTSE UK Index Series will be implemented after the close of business on March 21, 2003.
