Gartlan To Lead Russell Managed Portfolios

October 29, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Frank Russell Company has tapped Donald G. Gartlan, Jr. to lead its charge into the managed accounts business with Fidelity Investments Institutional Brokerage Group.

Gartlan will hold the new position of director, Russell Managed Portfolios. He will lead Russell’s education and positioning efforts with registered investment advisors about Russell Managed Portfolios.

A separate accounts program that provides affluent investors with a multi-manager investing option, the program is being made available to registered investment advisors who custody their assets on Fidelity’s institutional brokerage platform.

Gartlan served as vice president for A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc’s investment management consulting division in St. Louis since 1996. At A.G. Edwards, Gartlan was responsible for managing all aspects of consulting services, including product development, marketing, field support training program, research and operations.

Previously he worked with Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, Inc. in Dallas as vice president, manager — asset management group. In that role, from 1991 to 1996, he managed investment consulting services of Asset Management Group, including product development, training, marketing, research and operations.
